Luke Evans declares "Beauty and The Beast" prequel "is going To happen"

Luke Evans assured fans on Thursday that the Beauty and the Beast prequel about Gaston and LeFou is still in development and that it has been delayed

"It has been postponed. We just want to make sure it's the absolute best it can be, and if that means we have to wait a little longer to tweak certain parts of it"

Both Josh Gad, 41, and Evans will reprise the roles of LeFou and Gaston - both actors starred in the 2017 feature film directed by Emma Watson

"Exploring the story of those two people, as well as the new characters, and then bringing them up to the point where you meet them in the film was a thrilling experience," Evans said

Despite the challenges, Gad remains hopeful the series will happen

Gad explained that one of the main reasons for the constant delays was the financial cost of the series

Despite the challenges, Gad is still hopeful that the series will get made
