Tesla already has more than 35,000 Superchargers around the world, but it can be a mystery how exactly it chooses the locations

Now, the company is asking the public in a new Twitter poll to tell it where they would like to see other charging stations installed, TechCrunch reported

Some of the most desirable locations are the least accessible, including US national parks, Vancouver Island, Hawaii and Alaska

If you've ever been to British Columbia, you'll notice lots of Tesla electric cars driving around, but Vancouver Island has only a couple of Supercharger stations in Victoria and Nanaimo

Similarly, Alaska has only one Supercharger station in Soldotna, and Honolulu has the only six-space station

It would also make sense to install Supercharger charging stations at the gates of national parks, which are often located in remote regions

In the US, Tesla has 1,469 Supercharger charging locations and the number of charging points at each station varies widely

However, the growth in stations has not kept pace with Tesla's EV sales, which grew by 87% in 2021, but the installation of Supercharger chargers only increased by 35%

This could soon become an even bigger problem as the company has said it will open its Supercharger network to non-Tesla vehicles

Installing them is also not as easy as throwing money at them

Tesla recently posted a job advertisement for a Canadian Supercharger design team, stating that applicants need experience with site permitting, construction feasibility, utility applications and more

The company recently reported that Supercharger sites are good for business, with an average of between 2 000 and 5 000 chargers per month visiting the sites in Vancouver, BC
